Adopting animals in Tunisia is not common. Dogs, puppies, Cats, kittens, you see them quite often in our streets, dying in misery and left to the mercy of fate (and humankind!). On the other hand, there are people who opt to buy pedigree cats and dogs for high prices. There are however associations who take care of animals by vaccinating, sterilizing, and feeding them. Afterward, they put them for adoption.

SOS Animaux was founded in October 2007 by a vet, doctor Raoudha Mansour. Mrs. Mansour is currently the president. Many motivated people work within this association to ensure the wellbeing of animals.

They organize campaigns to raise awareness about the issue and convince people to treat animals better and reduce the flow rate of stray animals. They also highlight the importance of vaccination and sterilization of cats and dogs.
