Moungi Gabriel Bawendi

Tunisian-American chemist Moungi Gabriel Bawendi was honored with the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2023 alongside Louis E. Brus and Alexey Ekimov for their groundbreaking work on quantum dots. Born on March 15, 1961, in Paris, Bawendi emigrated to the United States during his childhood, where he earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Chicago in 1988. A renowned professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), he is recognized as one of the pioneers in quantum dot research and is considered one of the most influential chemists in the world. His exceptional contribution to science was officially acknowledged by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences through the Nobel Prize, highlighting the importance of quantum dots in nanotechnology.



Rania Toukebri 

Born in 1991, Rania Toukebri is a Tunisian aerospace engineer working on ESA projects in Bremen, Germany, since 2016. She specializes in embedded systems and has worked on satellites such as the Jupiter Icy Moons Satellite and the Biomass satellite. She is also active within the Space Generation Advisory Council as Tunisia's National Point of Contact since 2016, participating in international events for the development of space activities. Beyond her space career, she has been a UNHCR member since 2016 and a volunteer for African affairs, also supporting the activities of Human Rights Watch.

Hend Sabry

Renowned Tunisian actress Hend Sabry began her career at the age of fourteen in the Tunisian film "Silence des Palais" (Samt al Qosoor) in 1994, before making a name for herself in Egypt with "A Teenager's Diary" (Muzakirat Murahiqua) in 2002. Since then, she has starred in several Egyptian hits, including "A Citizen, a Detective, and a Thief" (Mowaten we Mokhber we Haramy) in 2002 and "Downtown Girls" (Banat West El Balad) in 2005. Hend has also ventured into production with her company Salam PROD, co-producing "Zahret Halab" (The Flower of Aleppo) and taking a role in it. Her recent film projects include the historical film "Al Kinz" (The Treasure) scheduled for 2017, and a Jordanian-German short film "The Parrot." Recognized for her talent, she has won over 25 awards, including one for her standout role in "Asmaa" (2011), where she portrays a woman living with HIV facing societal prejudices. Alongside her acting career, she is actively engaged in humanitarian causes, serving as a regional ambassador against hunger for the United Nations World Food Programme since 2010. In 2013, she was named one of the 100 most influential Arab women by CEO Middle East magazine. Her contribution to gender equality and her humanitarian efforts were honored by the French Ministry of Culture, which awarded her the title of Knight in the Order of Arts and Letters in 2014.

Ons Jabeur

Ons Jabeur made history in Tunisian tennis by becoming the first woman from her country to reach a Grand Slam final. Despite this remarkable achievement, she still aspires to win a major tournament, which would be a historic victory for her country and the sport in the region. Hailing from Ksar Hellal, Tunisia, she began her career with encouragement from her mother before training in Belgium and then in France. Her unique playing style, characterized by "crazy shots," has earned her international recognition on the WTA circuit. In 2022, after winning several tournaments and reaching the world No. 2 ranking, she became the first African representative to reach the Wimbledon final. Despite her defeat, Ons Jabeur remains a rising star in women's tennis, poised to continue making history in her sport and her country.

Balti 

Mohamed Salah Balti, known professionally as Balti, is a prominent figure in hip-hop in Tunisia and the Arab world. Born in La Marsa, Tunis, on April 10, 1989, he quickly established himself as one of the most influential rappers of his generation. Passionate about music from a young age, Balti began writing his own lyrics and recording his first songs. In 2007, the release of his debut album "My Definition" launched his career to new heights, placing him at the forefront of the Tunisian music scene. Well-versed in social and political themes, he does not shy away from addressing them in his songs despite criticism and pressure. Balti also demonstrates a strong humanitarian commitment, showing his dedication to his community and the underprivileged. With his distinctive flow and unique style, he has become one of the most influential figures in rap in the Middle East, reaching a broad audience worldwide.

Chamseddine Ben Nasr, born on October 9, 1980, in Bardo and originally from Menzel Bourguiba, has forged an exceptional path in gastronomy, leaving an indelible mark in Germany. Having grown up between Tunisia and Abu Dhabi, where his father worked for Total, he developed an early passion for cooking. His unique journey led him to contribute to the acclaim of the "Gutsschenke" restaurant in Germany, where he earned two prestigious Michelin stars, propelling the establishment onto the list of starred gourmet restaurants. Honored with a first star at the "Ritzi Gourmet" restaurant, Chamseddine continues to bring his distinctive touch to the culinary scene, proudly representing Tunisian cuisine on an international scale.
